It is satisfactory to note that the ar- rangement reported to vou in my Despatch No. 350 of the 27th. September last, by which the Water Police were placed under the temporary control of the Assistant Harbour master, is

working successfully. The Water Police have thereby gained a better knowledge of the duties and requirements of the Harbour Department and the Harbour Master has been enabled by his

readier access to the services of this Force to exercise a more efficient control over the waters of the Colony.

I have the honour to be, Sir,

Your most obedient Humble servant,

M. Ir than

Governor, &C..
