The health of the Police Force is more
fully dealt with in the Medical Reports for the year which will shortly be sent to you.

It is satisfactory to note that the ar- rangement reported to vou in my Despatch No. 350 of the 27th. September last, by which the Water Police were placed under the temporary control of the Assistant Harbour master, is
working successfully. The Water Police have thereby gained a better knowledge of the duties and requirements of the Harbour Department and the Harbour Master has been enabled by his
readier access to the services of this Force to exercise a more efficient control over the waters of the Colony.

I would call your special attention to paragraph 7 of Appendix II of the Report. It depicts a satis- factory condition of affairs in the New Territories.
12.
The tables attached to the Report have been somewhat modified and simplified this year. In future years those that now appear as tables 'E' and 'F' will be omitted as the information they embody is equally conveniently shown in Tables 'C' and 'D'.
